About
Callie is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biology at Stanford University. In the lab and in outside, she studies how genetic variation influences how organisms interact. Specifically, she studies the microbes (bacteria and yeast) that live in the nectar of native California plants! With this research, she hopes to better understand how bioengineering will effect wild plants, animals, and other organisms. In addition to her research, Callie leads several organizations that advocate for interdisciplinary, visionary science. These include initiatives to teach researchers how to use art to communicate their work and working with policymakers to improve accessibility, diversity, and justice in STEM.
